POOL TWO - open for betting November 24th - 12 PM through November 27, 2022 - 6 PM Twinspires
Sire Wagering is offered in this pool.
Sires and their respective offspring are grouped together for this article. If you do place a bet on the sire for this pool, you are not limited to just these listed offspring. It would encompass all of their 2-year-old offspring as well - those that are still out there and waiting to join the party.
FREE PP's for Future POOL TWO have been posted in FREE PP's Tab.
There are 11 with the proper configurations and 10f+ distance capability out of the 38 choices.
SIRE: VIOLENCE 6-1
FORTE 10-1 Todd Pletcher Violence
DP = 4-4-5-1-0 (14) DI = 3.00 CD = 0.79
Mare Profile = 11-2-5-1-11 Speed = 13 Stamina = 12 Index = 1.04 Triads = 18-8-17
This is not a good set-up for the Kentucky Derby. It's off through the mares, with zero advantage. The mares profile is weighted on the 2 extremes and triads are under-par. Generally, this does not work well in the Derby for a win. Board-hit possible but difficult.
SIRE: INTO MISCHIEF 8-1
→ EXTRA ANEJO 15-1 Steve Asmussen Into Mischief
DP = 1-2-6-5-0 (14) DI = 0.75 CD = -0.07
Mare Profile = 2-11-6-9-5 Speed = 13 Stamina = 14 Index = 0.84 Triads = 19-26-20
No change from pool one. With these configurations, he is a major Derby contender if he stays healthy and safe. Best prospect on the entire list with the best balance, style, scale and determination. Excellent.
GIANT MISCHIEF 25-1 Brad Cox Into Mischief (New to Pool Two)
DP = 1-1-4-0-0 (6) DI = 2.00 CD = 0.50
Mare Profile = 6-8-6-11-0 Speed = 14 Stamina = 11 Index = 1.53 Triads = 20-25-17
There is no question about his distance capability. Typical Into Mischief triads set-up, weighted to the left. One to keep on the side to see how he runs on a speed favoring track. Hold off.
GENERAL JIM 80-1 Shug McGaughey Into Mischief
DP = 1-2-3-0-0 (6) DI = 3.00 CD = 0.67
Mare Profile = 7-7-6-7-4 Speed = 14 Stamina = 11 Index = 1.29 Triads = 20-20-17
Three nice races on Turf. Is Shug looking to pull an Animal Kingdom move here? Would still wait to see how the horse moves on dirt before betting on him for the Derby.
→ CASCAIS 99-1 Chad Brown Into Mischief (New to Pool Two)
DP = 3-3-4-0-0 (10) DI = 4.00 CD = 0.90
Mare Profile = 2-12-6-11-1 Speed = 14 Stamina = 12 Index = 1.16 Triads = 20-29-18
Spectacular Into Mischief numbers. Fantastic lead running style and beat a full field at 8f. This is a live one from Chad Brown's barn. Definitely YES!!! Love those triads with that 4.00 index. Perfection. These are Winning Derby Numbers, without a doubt.
CYCLONE MISCHIEF 99-1 Dale Romans Into Mischief
DP = 1-2-3-0-0 (6) DI = 3.00 CD = 0.67
Mare Profile = 6-7-4-7-4 Speed = 13 Stamina = 11 Index = 1.21 Triads = 17-18-15
Triads here are not as good as some of the other Into Mischief sons. They are off.
→ FULL MOON MADNESS 99-1 Michelle Nevin Into Mischief
DP = 0-1-1-0-0 (2) DI = 3.00 CD = 0.50
Mare Profile = 5-7-7-10-3 Speed = 12 Stamina = 13 Index = 1.04 Triads = 19-24-20
No change from Pool One. Into Mischief boy with killer Derby numbers. Killer displayed speed on the lead at Aqueduct traveling only 6.5f. Massive Mares numbers. Not a bad bet here with those odds with this type of potential, rain or shine. Barn is questionable.
→ ROCKET CAN 99-1 Bill Mott Into Mischief
DP = 1-4-3-0-0 (8) DI = 4.33 CD = 0.75
Mare Profile = 5-7-7-8-2 Speed = 12 Stamina = 10 Index = 1.26 Triads = 19-22-17 (2nd gen Tapit)
No change from Pool One. This is a very good Derby prospect. Another Into Mischief boy but this time with Tapit in him as well. Fantastic configurations with a chart to match. Appears very promising. Speedy 4.33 + Tapit Stamina = Major Potential. Configured exactly like his half-sister Hoosier Philly.
SIRE: GOOD MAGIC 60-1
→ BLAZING SEVENS 30-1 Chad Brown Good Magic
DP = 3-6-7-0-0 (16) DI = 3.57 CD = 0.75
Mare Profile = 5-6-6-6-9 Speed = 11 Stamina = 15 Index = 0.73 Triads = 17-18-21
These are board-hit numbers for the Derby.
GULFPORT 75-1 Tom Amoss Good Magic
DP = 2-12-2-0-0 (16) DI = 15.00 CD = 1.00
Mare Profile = 8-1-8-5-5 Speed = 9 Stamina = 10 Index = 1.09 Triads = 17-14-18
Not good for the Derby.
CURLY JACK 80-1 Tom Amoss Good Magic
DP = 4-3-7-0-0 (14) DI = 3.00 CD = 0.79
Mare Profile = 5-6-5-10-7 Speed = 11 Stamina = 17 Index = 0.72 Triads = 16-21-22
No change from Pool One. Fantastic Belmont Stakes configurations which means he has the Derby distance blind-folded. Will be there if there is a pace meltdown. Board-hit numbers on a clean track.
SIRE: GHOSTZAPPER 60-1
→ LOGGINS 40-1 Brad Cox Ghostzapper
DP = 2-6-6-0-0 (14) DI = 3.67 CD = 0.71
Mare Profile = 4-4-6-10-4 Speed = 8 Stamina = 14 Index = 0.75 Triads = 14-20-20
No change from Pool One. Incredibly built for the Derby, especially on a clean track.
SIRE: GUN RUNNER 10-1
ECHO AGAIN 50-1 Steve Asmussen Gun Runner
DP = 2-4-8-0-0 (14) DI = 2.50 CD = 0.57
Mare Profile = 6-3-6-8-5 Speed = 9 Stamina = 13 Index = 0.88 Triads = 15-17-19
Still needs to show speed on his own merit. Pass for now.
DISARM 80-1 Steve Asmussen Gun Runner (New to Pool Two)
DP = 1-4-7-0-0 (12) DI = 2.43 CD = 0.50
Mare Profile = 7-3-5-9-6 Speed = 10 Stamina = 15 Index = 0.85 Triads = 15-17-20
No question that this horse is traveling the 10f. Looks much better situated for the Belmont Stakes at this time. Ran a very nice race last out but needs to show that he can do the same with a moderate early pace - not by capitalizing off of faltering lead speed. Promising, but not yet.
DENINGTON 99-1 Kenny McPeek Gun Runner (New to Pool Two)
DP = 3-3-8-0-0 (14) DI = 2.50 CD = 0.64
Mare Profile = 6-4-4-9-7 Speed = 10 Stamina = 16 Index = 0.74 Triads = 14-17-20
Same as Disarm, but this guy seems even much better built for long distance and runs like it too. A bit too slow with 4 races under his belt, even paced, all stamina. Belmont Stakes.
SIRE: TAPIT 40-1
→ SIGNATOR 60-1 Shug McGaughey Tapit
DP = 8-9-16-1-0 (34) DI = 2.78 CD = 0.71
Mare Profile = 11-3-3-4-10 Speed = 14 Stamina = 14 Index = 1.04 Triads = 17-10-17 (1st gen Tapit)
No change from Pool One. This 2.78 Tapit boy has 34 total points. Could be worth a shot. Slaughtered his opponents traveling 8f on the dirt for Shug. 2.78 from Tapit is hard for a win in the Derby but the horse sure can run. Most likely Belmont too.
→ TAPIT'S CONQUEST 99-1 Brad Cox Tapit
DP = 4-11-12-1-0 (28) DI = 3.00 CD = 0.64
Mare Profile = 9-3-4-6-9 Speed = 12 Stamina = 15 Index = 0.89 Triads = 16-13-19 (1st gen Tapit)
No change from Pool One. Tapit boy with a favorable 3.00 index. Did very well at 8.5f at Churchill to win by 3-1/2 lengths while stalking. He has the style, the speed, the track preference and the 3.00 index. Worth a gamble.
SIRE: BOLT d'Oro 60-1
CORONA BOLT 80-1 Brad Cox Bolt d'Oro (New to Pool Two)
DP = 5-10-10-1-0 (26) DI = 3.33 CD = 0.73
Mare Profile = 8-2-3-3-13 Speed = 10 Stamina = 16 Index = 0.66 Triads = 13-8-19
Promising colt for the future and the prep road, no doubt about that. It appears that half of his configurations are spectacular for the Derby, but the other half is not. He may be too weighted to speed in his profiles which will give him favor and status on the road but then his CD and mare index work for the Derby. Triads sub-par. 50-50 here at this point in time. Will need to monitor and revisit.
INSTANT COFFEE 80-1 Brad Cox Bolt d'Oro
DP = 4-5-4-1-0 (14) DI = 3.67 CD = 0.86
Mare Profile = 9-5-3-6-7 Speed = 14 Stamina = 13 Index = 1.13 Triads = 17-14-16
No change from Pool One. Still no.
NAVY MAN 99-1 Michael McCarthy Bolt d'Oro (New to Pool Two)
DP = 4-5-6-1-0 (16) DI = 3.00 CD = 0.75
Mare Profile = 12-2-3-3-10 Speed = 14 Stamina = 13 Index = 1.12 Triads = 17-8-16
Mares profile is split at the extremes. Descends to stamina. Weighted speed triads. No.
SIRE: CANDY RIDE 80-1
HIT SHOW 80-1 Brad Cox Candy Ride
DP = 2-5-6-1-0 (14) DI = 2.50 CD = 0.57
Mare Profile = 6-2-4-6-8 Speed = 8 Stamina = 14 Index = 0.69 Triads = 12-12-18
No change from Pool One. Distance no problem. Second generation Tapit with a 2.50 index. All stamina from mares. Tough for the Derby, better for the Belmont.
SIRE: JUSTIFY 40-1
VERIFYING 80-1 Brad Cox Justify
DP = 1-2-3-0-0 (6) DI = 3.00 CD = 0.67
Mare Profile = 9-1-6-7-6 Speed = 10 Stamina = 13 Index = 1.00 Triads = 16-14-19
Configurations show no allegiance to the Derby.
CHAMPIONS DREAM 99-1 Danny Gargan Justify (New to Pool Two)
DP = 3-6-7-0-0 (16) DI = 3.57 CD = 0.75
Mare Profile = 8-3-8-5-6 Speed = 11 Stamina = 11 Index = 1.08 Triads = 19-16-19
Way too slow for a 3.57 colt at 8f in his win at Aqueduct. Technically, the Derby distance is here but he must show ability to present major speed to compete without lead speedsters faltering. Hold off.
SIRE: QUALITY ROAD 20-1
CAPTURE THE FLAG 99-1 Shug McGaughey Quality Road (New to Pool two)
DP = 2-4-10-0-0 (16) DI = 2.20 CD = 0.50
Mare Profile = 8-3-5-6-7 Speed = 11 Stamina = 13 Index = 0.96 Triads = 16-14-18
Not a chance.
SIRE: CITY OF LIGHT 80-1
EXPECT MORE 99-1 Todd Pletcher City of Light (New to Pool Two)
DP = 1-5-4-0-0 (10) DI = 4.00 CD = 0.70
Mare Profile = 10-4-3-5-9 Speed = 14 Stamina = 14 Index = 1.04 Triads = 17-12-17
With only 10 points in chefs profile, he will depend on his mares to a greater degree. Speed inheritance is there, distance is very tight. He needs to run through these numbers. Monitor and wait.
SIRE: PRACTICAL JOKE 80-1
JOKING WAY 99-1 Steve Asmussen Practical Joke
DP = 1-2-1-0-0 (4) DI = 7.00 CD = 1.00
Mare Profile = 7-5-4-10-4 Speed = 12 Stamina = 14 Index = 1.05 Triads = 16-19-18
Not bad, but these are more "board-hit" numbers than winning numbers. Highly favorable if it rains and will gain additional lengths on a wet track. Possible, but tight. Mare dominant in balance.
PRACTICAL MOVE 99-1 Tim Yakteen Practical Joke (New to Pool Two)
DP = 1-0-1-0-0 (2) DI = 3.00 CD = 1.00
Mare Profile = 6-5-5-11-4 Speed = 11 Stamina = 15 Index = 0.92 Triads = 16-21-20
Mid-pack runner with exaggerated beyers from DelMar and Santa Anita. Chefs are bleak, highly influenced by mares. Not worth a futures bet this early. Need to see energy distribution at 9f to even consider that chef profile for the Derby.
SIRE: STREET SENSE 80-1
TUSKAGEE AIRMEN 99-1 John Servis Street Sense
DP = 5-4-8-1-0 (18) DI = 2.60 CD = 0.72
Mare Profile = 7-5-3-7-6 Speed = 12 Stamina = 13 Index = 1.00 Triads = 15-15-16
Absolutely no chance in the Kentucky Derby.
ALL OTHER SIRES 6-1 - Including:
TEN DAYS LATER 60-1 Kenny McPeek Collected
DP = 4-6-6-0-0 (16) DI = 4.33 CD = 0.88
Mare Profile = 6-7-4-10-4 Speed = 13 Stamina = 14 Index = 1.05 Triads = 17-21-18
Nice numbers but he is a very slow rear runner. Needs to display much more speed to be taken seriously for Kentucky.
AWESOME STRONG 80-1 Jorge Delgado Awesome Slew
DP = 5-8-11-1-1 (26) DI = 2.47 CD = 0.58
Mare Profile = 8-3-2-6-10 Speed = 11 Stamina = 16 Index = 0.75 Triads = 13-11-18
No chance.
→ VICTORY FORMATION 80-1 Brad Cox Tapwrit
DP = 5-8-9-0-0 (22) DI = 3.89 CD = 0.82
Mare Profile = 10-4-4-10-5 Speed = 14 Stamina = 15 Index = 1.17 Triads = 18-18-19 (2nd gen Tapit)
No change from Pool One. Fantastic. Killer 2nd generation Tapit numbers, a 3.89 speedy index with packed triads. Yes.
BROMLEY 99-1 Paulo Lobo Mastery (New to Pool 2)
DP = 2-5-7-0-0 (14) DI = 3.00 CD = 0.64
Mare Profile = 7-3-3-4-12 Speed = 10 Stamina = 16 Index = 0.65 Triads = 13-10-19
Surprising front runner with these numbers. He has the Derby distance and did very well to win at 6.5f. Allegiance to brilliant slot in mares profile. Low mare index and low CD. Intriguing, even with the triads. One to watch but not to bet now.
→ FORBIDDEN SECRET 99-1 Todd Pletcher Outwork
DP = 2-1-1-0-0 (4) DI = 7.00 CD = 1.25
Mare Profile = 5-6-6-12-2 Speed = 11 Stamina = 14 Index = 1.00 Triads = 17-24-20
These configurations work in the Derby, especially if it is wet or raining. Mares set-up is excellent. There is promise with this set-up. Lead speed that could hold. Similar to a Mandaloun type.
FRANK'S HONOR 99-1 Kenny McPeek Honor Code
DP = 5-8-10-1-0 (24) DI = 3.00 CD = 0.71
Mare Profile = 6-5-6-1-10 Speed = 11 Stamina = 11 Index = 0.85 Triads = 17-12-17
Has about 10.1f capability even with the low CD and lower mare index. Mare's numbers are not strong enough.
→ HAL 99-1 Darwin Banach Accelerate (New to Pool Two)
DP = 2-11-6-1-0 (20) DI = 4.00 CD = 0.70
Mare Profile = 6-4-7-7-9 Speed = 10 Stamina = 16 Index = 0.72 Triads = 17-18-23
Love the name and the numbers. Chefs weighted in the 7,8,9f area but the mares make up for the distance nicely. A gelding running up at Woodbine. Two for two and the speed isn't half bad. This horse is in an unknown barn but he is definitely sporting Derby numbers and has 10f easily.
LITIGATE 99-1 Todd Pletcher Blame (New to Pool Two)
DP = 6-10-11-1-0 (28) DI = 3.31 CD = 0.75
Profile = 9-5-2-4-14 Speed = 14 Stamina = 18 Index = 0.74 Triads = 16-11-20
Nice maiden winner with stalking style. Chef's line is spectacular and all but the triads from the mares work very well. This guy must be monitored and saved for next pool.
MR. RIPPLE 99-1 Saffie Joseph Jr. Dialed In
DP = 2-4-8-0-0 (14) DI = 2.50 CD = 0.57
Mare Profile = 13-3-2-6-8 Speed = 16 Stamina = 14 Index = 1.29 Triads = 18-11-16
If he even gets a gate in Kentucky, he will be peddling backwards before the final turn.
RECRUITER 99-1 Cathal Lynch Army Mule (New to Pool Two)
DP = 4-6-5-1-0 (16) DI = 3.57 CD = 0.81
Mare Profile = 7-6-5-4-7 Speed = 13 Stamina = 11 Index = 1.09 Triads = 18-15-16
Not a chance in hell in Kentucky.
