Pool One Futures Bet - Tuesday October 31 through Thursday, November 2.

This Pool can only be based on ability to run the 10f and the scale/balance that is advantageous at Churchill Downs on the First Saturday in May. These ratings have nothing to do with Future Derby Preps and only pertain to the 10f Derby race

The trick with a Futures Bet is to find the ones who shows promise for a speed favoring track and have the inbred capabilities to travel the 10f. They would also need to show success running against the grain if entered on incorrect bias or at an unsuitable short distance. Then you hope for the best.

Impressive stalking speed in a 13 gate field. Stamina from chefs. Balanced through mares.

Not the typical set-up, mid-range with sub-par triads, but seems to be running through his numbers.

More confirmation with a successful performance on a speedier track over 7f may be in order.

Important to track this colt and revisit for Pool Two. There is something to his balance that works.

Magnificent front running style on speedy Gulfstream surface with killer stamina capability.

Mares triads just slightly off but the speed he has shown far outweighs the left slope.

Undefeated in 4 races. A Mama's boy. Excellent Potential.

17.00 index did not produce expected speed. Triads nice, but point spread lacks.

Could upgrade at a later date, need to see more displayed speed with his mid-pack running style.

Not bad, but not good either. Not enough proof yet, even with 5 races under his belt.

Something isn't sitting right with it. Best to monitor this guy, not running to his numbers, yet.

Very impressive. Lead runner. Two successful very fast wins won at Churchill already. Nothing to fault.

Main stand-out feature with his speedy 4.00 is his ANZ drops down to a 2.67. There we find that extra stamina.

That part is excellent because mares triads slightly off, but scale is good. Very intriguing for Derby Potential.

Not special enough in the numbers and performances follow that as well, so far. Even though he has done nothing wrong,

there needs to be some "fire" and we haven't seen it. Triads lack. Could need more distance to show off. Revisit.

capitalize off of his stamina. Will get progressively better with distance. He has displayed speed. Built for a very

aggressive pace to run into, which we have had in last 2 editions, or even the Belmont Stakes. Should easily make

a gate in Kentucky and then he is pace dependent. That's the risk here.

Obvious speed leanings with ability to run on sloppy surface. Even balance from mares. Tricky with the chefs.

Best to wait until Pool Two, after Juvenile performance on Santa Anita track, to see if stamina side is compromised or if

odds float up if he looses. If he wins, odds only get worse. At 20-1 with 6 months to go, not the best bet of this Pool.
